The hatchery has a large classroom which was financed by the Coho Festival Society and thusly called the Coho Festival Education Centre. It measures 35 X 23 for a total of 805 sq/ft. The classroom can be let to groups for studies, movie shoots, meetings and seminars. The classroom is in the main hatchery building. The area surrounding the classroom and hatchery are pristine, forested and ideal for environmental studies. The hatchery is located in the Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve in North Vancouver, just a 1/4 kilometre below the the Seymour Falls Dam. There is a kitchen with hot and cold running water, fridge, microwave, toaster oven, coffee urns, and kettle. (Coffee, tea, sugar, cream and such should be supplied by your group). The telephone and fax are available but use radio signals and may be intermittent depending on the weather. Cell phone reception is unreliable in our mountainous location. Normal operating hours of our facility is from 8:00am- 3:30pm seven days a week. If your group wishes to rent the facility outside these hours, we will make every effort to accommodate you. |
