Family Fishing Day

FAMILY FISHING DAY 2017

Planning is underway for Family Fishing Day 2017. The event will be held on Father’s Day,
Sunday June 18th, 2017 from 10 AM to 3 PM. Bring your dad and the rest of the family and try out some fishing at Rice Lake, North Vancouver. No registration is required and fishing rods will be provided. There will also be a live band (Backspin Bluegrass), food truck and many community groups setting up booths. Buses will be shuttling interested visitors up to the Seymour hatchery in the Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve for a tour.
More details will be updated closer to the event.

The Seymour Salmonid Society in partnership with Metro Vancouver, hosts the annual Family Fishing Day event at Rice Lake in the Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve. The event is part of BC’s Family Fishing Weekend promoted by the Family Fishing Society of BC and coincides with Father’s Day. It is free to attend this event intended to encourage families to participate in the various activities:

  • Enjoy our salmon barbecue – please note that there will be limited quantities available, money raised from this supports the Seymour Salmonid Society. $10 a plate
 
  • Talk to community organisations and other exhibitors
 
  • There will also be 3 bus tours up to the Seymour River hatchery leaving at 11am, 12pm and 1pm. These are filled on the day on a first come first served basis – there is no pre-booking by phone
   

 

The event was held at the top of Lillooet Road by Rice Lake Gate and also at Rice Lake itself.
